Checking for understanding in the classroom (mengecek pemahaman siswa di kelas) adalah proses yang dilakukan oleh guru untuk mengetahui sejauh mana siswa telah memahami materi pelajaran yang disampaikan. Tujuannya agar guru bisa segera menyesuaikan strategi pengajaran, memperbaiki penjelasan, atau memberikan penguatan jika diperlukan.

Beberapa cara checking for understanding yang umum digunakan di kelas:

1. Pertanyaan langsung

Guru mengajukan pertanyaan terbuka atau tertutup kepada siswa untuk melihat apakah mereka memahami konsep yang diajarkan.

2. Exit ticket

Siswa menuliskan satu hal yang mereka pelajari atau satu pertanyaan yang masih mereka miliki sebelum keluar kelas.

3. Think-pair-share

Siswa berpikir sendiri, berdiskusi dengan teman, lalu berbagi pemahamannya ke kelas.

4. Polling atau kuis cepat

Menggunakan teknologi seperti Kahoot, Quizizz, atau Google Forms untuk mengecek pemahaman secara real-time.

5. Observasi dan diskusi kelompok

Guru mengamati interaksi siswa saat berdiskusi untuk menilai pemahaman mereka secara tidak langsung.
